Food Service News

Welcome back!  On August 31st, the U.S. Department of Agriculture extended all Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) waivers through as late as December 31, 2020, dependent on available funding.  The move allows schools to offer meals to all children at no charge this fall to minimize the challenges of meal service during a pandemic.  SNA is continuing to advocate for these waivers to be extended through School Year 2020-21.   Students in Whitman-Hanson K-12 will have the option of free lunch through December 31, 2020 or until funding is eliminated.

Our menus have been posted and our online ordering app for meals served during school is up and running.  All orders by 8:30 a.m.  However, you can order in advance for the week or the month.  Please visit our website and click on the Foodservice Page or use this direct link: https://www.schoolnutritionandfitness.com/index.php?sid=1598554176363.  There are instructions posted for help when creating an online ordering account.  You will need your student’s ID number to add children to your account.  If you do not know your child’s ID number, please contact us.

At this time, all remote meals will need to be ordered through the Food Service Department – please see contact information for your child’s school.  Remote meals will begin on Wednesday, September 23rd.  We will be serving remote meals via curbside pickup at each school on Wednesdays only unless there is no school due to a scheduled holiday or inclement weather.  Additionally, if you need to order meals for your students with one pickup location, please contact the food service contact for the school that you want to pick up your remote meals from.   However, if you need immediate assistance or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.

Please note:  Remote meals should be available to order online in October.  Unfortunately, the Curbside Pickup Menus and Preschool Menus of online ordering app are still being developed.  More information will be released once they are completed.
