Dear Whitman-Hanson:

Jeff Szymaniak and I are pleased to announce the appointment of the next Duval School Principal, Dr. Darlene Foley.

Dr. Darlene Foley is currently the PK – Grade 5 Literacy Curriculum Coordinator in the Scituate Public Schools. Prior to taking that position, she served as the Elementary Technology Integration Specialist, also in Scituate. Darlene began her career in education as a classroom teacher in New Jersey. She holds a B.S. degree from Fitchburg State University. She has a M.S. degree in the Science of Instruction from Drexel University and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Lesley University. Darlene also has done post-graduate work in special education at Endicott College.

We extend our gratitude to the members of the Search Committee and to Principal Karen Downey for chairing the Committee. We congratulate Darlene and wish her much success in her new position. We also extend best wishes to Julie McKillop in her new position as principal of the Hatherly School in Scituate.

Sincerely,
