Senior College Planning Orientation in English classes with counselors

Senior Parent Breakfast in the Student Dining Hall at WHRHS from 7:30 - 9:00 AM. This is a parent-only event. If you are unable to participate, please contact your child's school counselor at 781-618-7427 to set up an individual college planning appointment.

Regional College Fair at Whitman-Hanson Regional HS from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Approximately 100 colleges and universities will be in attendance. Bring a bag to take home college admissions materials and arrive early to avoid parking issues.

Monday, October 1, 2018
College essays due to School Counseling Office. All seniors will have an opportunity to participate in the College Essay Project where students compose their essays for English class, and then essays will be sent to college admissions partners for review and critique.

Tuesday, October 2, 2018
Financial Aid/College Financing Workshop presented by MEFA This program will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the Dr. John F. McEwan Performing Arts Center. All parents and students are encouraged to attend.

PSAT administered at Whitman-Hanson. All students in grade 10 and 11 will be taking the PSAT.

Early College Planning Workshop for parents and students in Grade 9 and 10. This program will be held in the Dr. John F. McEwan Performing Arts Center from 6:30 - 8:00 PM.

Week of October 22, 2018
College Essay Project - most college partners visit Senior English classes, return college essays, and provide expert feedback. Admissions representatives from the following colleges/universities are expected to participate: Boston College, Curry College, Sacred Heart University, Stonehill College, UMass Boston, Suffolk University, and Rhode Island College.

Thursday, October 25, 2018
FAFSA Workshop, sponsored by American Student Assistance, will be held in WHRHS computer labs. Parents and students attending will receive assistance to complete and submit their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online.
