Summer School

The Whitman-Hanson Regional School District will conduct Summer School as a supplement to the instruction offered during the school year. The major purpose of the summer school program is to provide students an additional opportunity to make up work in the required subjects failed during the regular school year.

Subject to sufficient enrollment, courses in each area required for graduation will be offered in summer school.

Summer school will be four weeks in length (five for Algebra I) and run in July. Students must pay for all courses they wish to take before the first day of summer school. The fee for Summer School shall be set by the Regional School Committee each year. No refunds (prorated) will be made after the second day of attendance at summer school.

Given that the length of summer school is one-third the length of a regular school year (20 days x 120 minutes per course), a summer school grade of “B-” to “A+” will raise a failing grade to C; a summer school grade of “C-” to “C+” will raise a failing grade to D; a summer school grade of “D-” to “D+” will raise a failing grade to D-. Credits toward graduation shall be granted to students who satisfactorily complete the course(s) in which they have enrolled.

All policies and regulations established for the regular school year pertaining to student behavior shall apply to students enrolled in summer school.

TUITION

$185 per class for in-district students

$250 per class for out-of-district students

There will be no refunds for withdrawals after Monday, July 1, 2013

Registration, including payment by cash, check, money order, Visa, or MasterCard will be held at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School on Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26^th, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Payment is due on the day of registration. Space may be limited, so register early.
